Dear participants, dear sponsors and volunteers, dear exhibitors, dear friends of running!

Due to the federal and state stipulations that major events will remain prohibited until at least the end of October, provided that the hygiene regulations and distance rules as well as seamless contact tracking cannot be guaranteed by all participants and spectators, we decided with a heavy heart to cancel this year DRESDEN-MARATHON.

We cannot ensure that the spectators and passers-by who are in contact with the field of runners are completely traced. Furthermore, it is not possible for us to check compliance with all distance and hygiene guidelines of participants and spectators before, during and after the run.

The marathon lives from emotions, atmosphere, enthusiasm and light-heartedness. Unfortunately, we cannot offer all of this this year. Furthermore, out of responsibility for the health of everyone involved and the population, we don’t want to risk triggering a new hotspot with our DRESDEN-MARATHON.

With all frustration, we look optimistically ahead and look forward to our RESTART on October 17, 2021. Online registration is open from October 18, 2020.

All participants registered up to and including today (August 20, 2020) will be received an e-mail in the next few days with the selection options for transferring the registration to 2021 or a refund or a donate of the registration fee.

We would be very happy if you would support the now unused helper associations with a freely selectable sum of your organizational fee or contribute to cover expenses already incurred. “Runner solidarity” Many thanks for that.

We look forward to a RESTART with you in October 2021. Stay healthy!

The organization-team of the 22nd DRESDEN-MARATHON
