Information for Race Day

Timing is carried out exclusively using a reusable transponder. Each relay team starts with one transponder, which is attached to the ankle. The transponder also serves as the “baton” and must be passed on to the next relay runner at the changeover points. Attachment to the ankle using a Velcro strap is mandatory.

The total net time of the team as well as the individual leg times will be recorded, provided that the start, finish, and all control mats along the course are crossed.

THE TRANSPONDER MUST BE RETURNED IMMEDIATELY AFTER CROSSING THE FINISH LINE!

The bib numbers of the marathon relay participants are color-coded differently from those of the individual marathon runners. This allows course marshals to direct relay participants to the designated exchange points. For this reason, bib numbers must always be clearly visible on the front.
The relay exchange points are easily accessible by public transportation. Due to numerous road closures, it is strongly discouraged to attempt private transport to the
exchange locations. The relay exchange areas are separated from the main race course. About 100 meters before each
exchange point, signs and marshals will indicate the upcoming changeover zone.

At each exchange point, there is a “pit lane” where the “relay baton” (transponder with Velcro strap on
the ankle) is handed over. The allocation to specific boxes within this area is based on the bib number.

The 2nd runner must reach the course split between the marathon and half marathon (km 16.5 – Th.-
Müntzer-Platz) by 12:45 p.m., just like all marathon participants.
They continue along the MARATHON COURSE.

3rd Leg: approx. 14.8 km
Waldschlößchen Bridge to the exchange point at Straßburger Platz / Gläserne Manufaktur

4th Leg: approx. 7.9 km

running times.
