Two strong women, two impressive athletic careers – and both will be at the start line of the DRESDEN-MARATHON on October 26.

Blanka Dörfel, 22 years old and one of Germany’s most promising running talents, will compete in the Piepenbrock Half Marathon. The athlete runs for SCC Berlin and has proven this year that she is among the fastest in her field: with a second-place finish at the German Half Marathon Championships in 1:10:25 hours and a personal best of 1:09:45 hours, she is firmly established among the national elite. She also continues to deliver strong performances over 5,000 meters (15:41.20 minutes). Passion, courage, and an impressive rhythm define her – qualities that make Blanka Dörfel one of the most exciting athletes in German road running.
The marathon will also see world-class competition: Yvonne van Vlerken, triathlon ace and duathlon world champion, brings international flair and a wealth of experience to Dresden. The Dutch endurance icon has claimed numerous IRONMAN victories, broke the legendary “sub-9-hour” barrier at the Roth long-distance triathlon, and already won the Rennsteiglauf Marathon in 2025 with an outstanding time of 3:02:20 hours.
On October 26, she will once again take to the start line – this time on the marathon course in Dresden. Her nickname “Flying Dutchgirl” says it all: powerful, passionate, and full of energy.
We look forward to two exceptional athletes who will bring true women’s power to the DRESDEN-MARATHON 2025 – Blanka Dörfel in the half marathon and Yvonne van Vlerken in the marathon.
