At the 25th DRESDEN MARATHON, it’s not just the adults who take center stage – our young running heroes get their big moment too.
With the Children’s Marathon and the Bambini Run on Saturday, 25th October 2025, we offer two thoughtfully designed events for children aged 3 to 14, where fun, physical activity, and an unforgettable finish-line experience are guaranteed.

Children’s Marathon – 1.4 km of running fun

A real highlight awaits all children born between 2011 and 2018.
The Children’s Marathon covers a 1.4 km course through the Sportpark Ostra and ends with a grand finish inside the Heinz-Steyer-Stadium – exactly where the marathon runners cross the finish line. A truly unforgettable experience.

Bambini Run – A big moment for the little ones

Our youngest participants can also look forward to a very special running experience.
The Bambini Run gives children born between 2018 and 2022 the chance to enjoy real marathon atmosphere. The approximately 400-metre lap around the stadium is run without timekeeping – but with lots of fun, applause, and a medal at the finish.
